D.R. Niraj Adhikari, 18 February 2016 - Two young girls suffered from burns after being left at home by their parents. This is a form of domestic accidents in which most of the children are found severely injured. The authorities too claimed that such incidents are the parts of domestic accidents as the results of parental negligence.
One child is found severely burnt and it was later realized that the child was abandoned by her mother and eloped with another person. The authorities directed to the parents to be extra careful in handing the children.
Authorities in West Pokot County expressed concern over the rising cases of domestic accidents with four children under the age of five being admitted at the Kapenguria hospital every month with severe burns.
Health authorities in the area are now urging parents to exercise extra caution while working within the vicinity of children to avoid such accidents. The authorities in Kapendguria County Hospital urged to the parents to be more careful and even warn to be extra alert to avoid future cases. The affected families are seeking help from government and well wishers.
Most of the parents have to leave their children when they are away for some works. They might have thought that their children will be in good care but in most of the cases, the children are found suffered from injuries due to the accidents.
